  2. This is so cute and cuddly but probably will bite if you hug it. Is this one big painting in progress? My goodness, this must be loaded with pure delight! You are giving me an idea. I always wanted to draw one huge drawing and maybe if I thought of it as little parts making up the sum rather than drawing the whole as one, I will be able to handle it. Thank you!!!

  3. Yes, so sweet but it may posess sharp teeth. Have to ask, is Hieronymus Bosch in your family tree? I have a book by Nancy Willard, Pish, Posh said Hieronymus Bosch and it has some fascinating critters, too.

  5. You must be working on an epic painting with so many fascinating critters in it. I am so curious about what the whole thing looks like. Love your "puzzled".

  6. Thanks to all, & apologies for my silence of late-- I'm just swamped with work & family stuff. Yes, one of my major, continuing projects is a large commissioned acrylic painting that includes all these critters & more. Ima, you are right on the button-- the piece is inspired by Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights! I only wish we were related. Although actually I'm rather a mutt genealogically, so I suppose it is remotely possible!

The painting is too large & unwieldy to fit on my scanner, but when it's finally done I will have it professionally scanned & you'll all have a chance to see it at last! The backgrounds of these critters aren't from the painting, by the way-- just added in Photoshop. (I'm designing the whole painting in PS so that I can be sure the critters & colors work together before I put brush to canvas.)
